The Annan Plan – Demonstration Comparison

The Annan Plan was one of the largest setbacks in the history of the Cyprus negotiations. The Cyprus negotiations have been ongoing for 53 years and have continuously failed the Turkish Cypriot people.

Out of 17 Cyprus solutions, the Greek Cypriot administration or Greek Cypriot people have rejected 15. Talks for unification have failed for 53 years, and federal talks have failed for 44 years. Despite 65% of Turkish Cypriots accepting the UN solution, they received no concessions and continue to be isolated from the rest of the world.

However the Greek Cypriots who overwhelmingly rejected the plan, continue to enjoy global recognition and EU membership
